    Extensive botanical surveys conducted in the Sirumalai hills, Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu during 2005-08 have resulted in the collection of 374 plant species. Review of literature indicated that 85 of these have not been recorded earlier from the region. Hence they are reported as additions to the flora of Sirumalai Hills. All these 85 taxa are occurring naturally in the region and are presented here, with collection details for further reference

    493-497The study has been carried out in Sirumalai hills of Western Ghats, Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Palliyar, the predominant tribal community has their settlements in different areas in the Sirumalai hills. 30 medicinal plants belonging to 18 families are identified which have been employed by the tribal community for the treatment of diabetes and jaundice.
